This online quiz was designed on Moodle. The goal is to quiz students on their knowledge of solving linear equations. By taking the quiz, the student can also learn through formative feedback. There is feedback for both correct and incorrect answers. There is also a link to a website to provide the student with help (or review) if needed. The quiz questions were designed based on Bloom's Taxonomy levels apply and higher. The first and second image show a question at the evaluate level. For mathematics, finding an error or evaluating a common mistake is a good way to test the student. The third and fourth image show a question from the apply level. The formative feedback is designed to teach the student. We do not want a student to just keep taking a quiz so they get the correct answer, we want them to learn and remember the material. The last image shows a matching question. This is not a trivial question and encourages the student to solve each equation. We do not want the quizzes to be too easy, we want them to challenge the students and help them learn.
